IronPro
1. What is IronPro? What finishes are they available in?
IronPro is iron baluster fasteners that makes remodeling a stairway from wood balusters to iron balusters very easy to do. IronPro is also ideal for new stairway construction too. Two different kits are available: LI-PROLVL is for open tread stairways and LI-PROKNE is for kneewall stairs. Both kits are available in satin black powder coat finish.
2. Is the Base Collar in the Level Kit available separately?
Yes. The Base Collar and Threaded Disc can be ordered separately as item LJ-PROCOL and it is identical in shape to our LI-ALM06 shoes. The Threaded Disc has teeth on the bottom and around the outer ring so it digs into the tread to reduce the chance of it spinning during installation, whether in new construction or remodeling.
3. Is any predrilling required to install IronPro?
The attachment screws and hanger bolts have an aggressive self-drilling tip and don't require a pilot hole, although drilling one will make installation easier. Coating the screws and bolts with paraffin also allows them to install easier.
4. Does using IronPro to fasten iron balusters save installation time?
Yes. Iron balusters installed using IronPro can generally be completed in approximately 1/3 of the time that it takes to install iron balusters using standard installation methods.
5. What types of stairs can IronPro be used on?
IronPro is for Open Tread or Kneewall stairs of nearly any degree of ascent. Works with plowed or non-plowed handrails as well as kneewall plate or shoerail.
6. Why are there Round socket(s) and Rectangular Socket(s) in each IronPro Kit?
The Round sockets are used under non-plowed handrail or on a kneewall plate. The Rectangular Sockets are most often used for remodeled stairs in plowed handrail or shoerail. The socket should be turned to fill the width of the plow. Turn one direction for 1 1/4" plowed handrail and turn 90 degrees for 1 3/4" plowed handrail.
