Wooden Staircases We Love
It is no surprise that Iron Baluster staircases have been on the rise with their modern appeal, but did you know you can create that same modern look with wooden balusters as well? By selecting the right style of baluster and painting it a solid color, you can create the same clean look that Iron Balusters offer. Take a look below to see a few of our favorite wooden staircases from the past few years.
Brownstone Boys
The Brownstone Boys are notorious for keeping traditional home designs in the spaces that they remodel, and they do such an incredible job when it comes to staircase remodels. While they really love the look of black staircases, there are some details that you just can’t get with traditional iron balusters, so when they were remodeling a home in Brooklyn, they decided to go with decorative wooden balusters and never looked back.
The highly decorative balusters created such a beautiful contrast to the modern decor of the space, and the Tricorn Black color of the staircase draws your eye as soon as you walk into the home. “First impressions are important. At the Simply Cyn renovation, the open floor plan and beautiful stairs are all brand new! The newel post, balusters, and handrail from L.J. Smith Stairs are a welcoming party we would be happy to have greet us every day.”

Jean Stoffer
While renovating a historic home in Michigan, Jean Stoffer had to somehow revive the three-story staircase while still keeping the historic charm of the home. Since this home was built in 1905, she needed to utilize wooden balusters while still bringing a fresh and modern appeal to the space. To do that, she got creative.
Utilizing pin top balusters and classic wooden newel posts, Jean created a stunning timeless design that still shows off the original structure of the home. The complete staircase offers a stunning modern appeal that blends right in to the home’s historical beauty. With L.J. Smith Stair Parts, Jean was able to transform this drab historic home into a beautiful work of art.
